Career at KiKxxl
Sabine is HR Manager for our sites in Germany, Istanbul and Athens. She has been with us for almost 25 years and has experienced a lot in a quarter of a century at KiKxxl! Read all about her career in the interview.
What was your career at KiKxxl like?
After studying law, I was looking for a flexible part-time job that would be temporary – and that’s how I came across KiKxxl. When I started in 2001, we were just 30 people and only had one project. And now I will be celebrating my 25th anniversary at KiKxxl next year!
I started as a customer advisor at KiKxxl. At a party for our first anniversary (which we celebrated in the stairwell in Franz-Jens-Straße), Andreas approached me and asked whether I would be interested in building up and taking over the HR department in the future because of my legal background. I decided to take a detour via the project business (which is helpful for my current job) and initially became a project manager. Finally, in 2005, I took over the HR department and built it up completely.
What are your responsibilities?
As Head of HR, I am responsible for the entire HR department at our six locations in Germany as well as in Istanbul and Athens. I am responsible for the operational management and strategic development of the entire HR department and am the point of contact for all HR issues for the management, the works council, managers and employees.
How would you describe the development of KiKxxl?
The development of KiKxxl has been incredibly dynamic! As a company, we are extremely flexible and have to constantly reinvent ourselves to keep pace with requirements. This dynamism is also reflected in my own area of responsibility. In contrast to companies with rigid structures and long decision-making processes, we are very agile. This variety of challenges makes our work exciting and promotes excellent team spirit. We are a close-knit team in which long-standing friendships are formed.
