Dynamic growth in Kosovo

Kosovo continues to develop into a key location for us with promising prospects. In addition to the expansion in Gjilan, Prishtina and Peja also continue to play an important role. These three cities offer different advantages, which we are utilising specifically for our long-term strategy.

The focus of our current expansion is in Gjilan, where we are setting up a sales unit in cooperation with Vodafone. We are starting here this year with 15 FTEs (full-time equivalents), which should grow to 30 FTEs in the coming year.  Gjilan offers numerous advantages, including a qualified and motivated workforce. Despite its smaller size compared to the capital Pristina, the city with its 90,000 inhabitants offers great potential for our expansion. In September, Erden and Andreas travelled there to see the region and the new building for themselves. This trip confirmed their decision that Gjilan is the ideal location – also thanks to the modern office building currently under construction. The office building offers modern working conditions, barrier-free access and additional facilities such as relaxation rooms and a flat for overnight stays.

Promoting the language skills of our employees is a central element of our strategy. We offer free German courses up to B2 level that are specifically designed to strengthen their language skills. Participants are given clear job prospects during their training as soon as they reach B2 level. This initiative not only supports our growth, but also creates long-term development opportunities for our employees.

Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo, continues to be of great importance for our projects. The city offers a large labour market, which has enabled us to build up teams in the areas of sales and customer support.

Currently, the majority of our E.ON employees are based in the Prishtina offices, while we are now expanding the project in Gjilan. Due to E.ON’s strong presence in Prishtina, the management team in Gjilan and Prishtina is currently being strengthened by two additional project managers in order to efficiently manage growth in both locations and drive strategic development.

Peja is another location that is of great importance to us. Here we work together with an international mobility service provider. This account currently has 80 employees who not only work in customer support, but also in outbound projects. The projects run in German, French and soon also for the US market, which is made possible by shifts until 10 pm.

Peja has proven to be the ideal location for these projects, as we can rely on a highly qualified and stable workforce here. Management development is also an important part of our strategy here: in recent years, we have successfully developed young team leaders who are now able to professionally manage and implement complex processes such as deviation-cause-measurement.

The expansion into Kosovo shows how dynamic and promising the location is for us. While Prishtina, as the capital, continues to play a central role in our strategy, Gjilan, with its smaller but growing economy and lower costs, offers enormous opportunities for future growth. Peja has established itself as an ideal location for specialised projects where we can rely on the professionalism and loyalty of our employees. Our projects in cooperation with international partners show that Kosovo is a crucial hub for our future success – both in sales and in customer service.
